Inscription of the Tectonic Arena Sardona in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites resulted from applications by the participating communities. In signing the "Agreement on the Joint Protection of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona," they committed themselves to cooperatively share the duties of preserving and fostering this world heritage as well as the landscapes, habitats and geotopes. The World Heritage Site should be open to guests to the extent that this is compatible with the mandate of preservation and a sustainable, adapted usage is possible.
